CURBSIDE PICKUP
by Erica Kirkland

Need for Service Has Dwindled
About 20 percent of Giftbeat’s reporting stores never offered curbside pickup.
Among the store owners that did/do, 77 percent say demand has dwindled since the beginning of the pandemic.
“We really only did this for a few months and it was never very strong,” says a Utah retailer while a Georgia store owner comments, “Once we opened back up curbside pickup just died. People would much rather come into the store.”
“Some customers want to call and order over the phone,” says a multi-store operator in Michigan. “They say they’ll pick up curbside, but always end up coming in now and picking up in person.”
Did/do you offer curbside pickup?
How did it work out for you?
Will you continue to offer it?
