Giftbeat Transitions to New Ownership

Giftbeat has been acquired by InStore Magazine Inc., publisher of InStore, a magazine serving independent giftware retailers in Canada. President Erica Kirkland will serve as publisher and editor of both InStore and Giftbeat, delivering readers the most up-to-date market insight into the North American gift industry, emerging retail trends and best practices in independent store operations.
"Erica is an entrepreneur and small business owner who understands the unique challenges that come with owning your own business," says Giftbeat founder Joyce Washnik. "Having covered the Canadian giftware market for nearly 20 years, she is also an experienced editor with an eye for spotting hot products and emerging retail trends."

Under InStore's ownership the August 2018 edition of Giftbeat will reveal a new design with a renewed focus on the market research that differentiates the publication from other trade magazines in the market. Giftbeat subscribers can look forward to an updated design with full color photography of new products while the content and direction of the editorial will remain unchanged. In addition to a redesign, a variety of outreach marketing campaigns will be deployed to ensure the newsletter reaches more North American retailers, reps and vendors.
