Use "Wonder Words" In Your Invites

Thursday, May 1, 2008

(GIFTBEAT)Non-dreary, exceptionally cheery language is the key to writing invitations to store events that your customers simply can't resist! Here, Lynni Megginson, owner and principal designer of Maryland-based L&M Designs and author of "The Absolutely Essential Guide to Planning Fabulous Retail Events!", shares her list of "Wonder Words" that work wonders when interspersed in your invitations!

The language we use to entice our clients to make time to attend our events is every bit as important as the basic information. Our customers have busy, busy lives, and unless we convey on this [invitation] the fact that our event is not to be missed, [we'll] lose out on a lot of potential business.

Use "Wonder Words" in your invitations. The list below will inspire you to use fab, not drab, words to describe your event:

Unusual Wonder Words:

  • Fabulous, Divine, Gorgeous, Yummy, Breathtaking, Hand-Painted, Nibble, Sip, Tempting, Couture, Fun, Spectacular, Woo-Hoo!, Yay!, Lavish, Ooh-La-La
  • Over-The-Top

  • Hooray!, Decadent, Hand-Selected, Inspiring, Nationally Known, Recognized, Outstanding, Exciting, Amazing, Array, Splendid, Awesome, Hot, Exclusive, Famous, La-Di-Dah
  • One-of-a-Kind

  • Unique, Lovely, Enticing, Festive, Party, Celebrate, Gathering, Display, Treats, Goodies, Wonderful, Yippee!, Dazzling, Delightful, Annual, Exceptional
